Anti-Corruption Statement

APBA's Anti-Corruption Statement

Corruption represents a serious threat to economic growth, individual livelihoods and civil society across the world. It leads to violations of human rights and allows organised crime, terrorism and other threats to human security to flourish. Corruption has no place in society.

We condemn corruption in whatever form it manifest (including dishonest and unethical business practices, deception, fraud, crime, criminal acts, bribery, abuse, profiteering, injustice, extortion, jobbery, falsification, mistreatment and law breaking). We condemn all forms of injustice associated with corruption and the significant harm it causes.

We welcome efforts made by governments, regulators, law enforcement and international bodies, professional bodies, and decent people to support us in our fight against bribery, corruption, tax-evasion, money laundering and the financing of international terrorism.

We shall uphold a reputation of trust (earned from the people we work with and the customers we serve) by being alert to and combating corruption and bribery at all times. We shall speak against Corruption through channels such as training, campaigning and we shall support our stakeholders to uphold the highest levels of integrity and ethical standards.

We shall uphold a reputation for acting honestly, professionally, openly, fairly and ethically wherever we do business. We shall ensure that the corporate values and those of our employees and partners drive our collective commitment to acting with integrity throughout our organisation.

We take a zero-tolerance approach to corruption in all its forms and do not accept it in our business or in those we do business with. We uphold all laws relevant to countering bribery and corruption in all the jurisdictions in which we operate.

We will continue to collaborate with others to ensure our Anti-Corruption Programmes (including staff training and development) and policies (including the standards we expect from our partners) are effective and productive as we follow anti-corruption laws everywhere we operate. We expect our suppliers and third parties to comply with anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws, as well as support our standards for integrity, fair dealing, and sustainability.

We shall continue to inform ourselves of the activities of those criminals who seek to abuse the services provided by decent people to launder the proceeds of corruption. We stand united in the fight against corruption in all its forms and are committed to sharing knowledge, skills and intelligence with our fellow professionals and with responsible businesses and with all agencies fighting this cause.
